Never too young to start!

I think Brad's hope for the future Tyler is to turn him into the next greatest MMA fighter of the world!  He figures if Tyler can start his training at a young age, he will have better luck in the future with "his" sport :-)

Tyler, of course, thinks it is awesome that Dad sits and commentates every punch, kick or head butt he makes!

Kaili was too excited by her new toys to mess with that silly bag :-)

Recital x 2

 Today's the day...Piano recital day!

Getting ready to play!
Tyler did AWESOME!  He has a major gift for music!

My computer isn't working and I can't figure out how to get the other video to upload, so I had to resort to YouTube...

Watch him play here!

Kaili took a picture of me too (Yup!  I played in the recital!)  Fuzzy picture...we're still learning how to focus.

She even took a short, noisy, wiggly video :-)

Today's the Day!

It's birthday season at the Bryson Household!  (We set up our family so we could slam it all out in 2 two weeks...we have Kaili: May 28th, Sina: May 31st and Tyler: June 10th)  :-)

Today, we celebrated Kaili and Sina's birthdays by inviting everyone under the sun to come have a super fun play date!
I didn't take any pictures during the actual party :-(  But there were kids everywhere!  We had trampoline and slip 'n slide fun...

Pinata smashing...
And of course, presents!

These girls were so lucky!  They had an entire table of gifts and got exactly everything they could ever dream of!  Lucky for me...I hadn't gone shopping at Target because I think the whole girl's toy section was in our house!  :-)

So glad so many friends got to come!
Tyler is anxiously awaiting his special day and sat down with me right after his last friend left to start planning out HIS party!
After everyone had gone, after the toys had been strewn all over the house and after I enjoyed a short cat nap...Brad surprised the kids by coming home early (Look, the sun is still bright in the sky!)  And he didn't just bring himself...he brought another pinata (filled with more delicious and nutritious candy...because they didn't get enough of the stuff earlier in the day!) and more presents!

This pinata was given to him by a great friend who forced him to leave work and come home early....I asked Brad where he got the pinata and the kids overheard me...they informed me that DAD brought it home because he is the Best Dad Ever!  So, thanks Claypools...for making Brad the Best Dad Ever! :-)

And yes, tennis rackets do work just as good as baseball bats...in case you were wondering :-)

Look at what I caught Brad doing!  Kaili LOVED it and I think Brad actually enjoyed himself too...who can resist Rapunzel and Ariel?! (sorry, it's sideways...I can't figure out how to straighten it out!)

Few...we made it through the day...the party is over...

Oh wait...I have to do this again...next week... :-)

But we do live in Hawaii...it should be warm, right?

Our friend's keep our lives fun!

Joined them at the Queen's Bath.  The temperature wasn't what they were used to...Kids needed a little time to talk themselves into taking the plunge!

I dunked Sina in twice but she only lasted 2.5 seconds before screaming bloody murder...apparently, it was cold!
After the water froze their little veins, they opted for exploring on the beach!

Looks like Kaili has detached my head

We try not to turn down invites...they always end up being AWESOME!

Nails

Had another sewing day today ;-)  Girls kept themselves busy.

Maybe I should sign up for a pedicure!

Gramma Tree

We have a Gramma Tree in our front yard (plumeria) and the girls LOVE picking me flowers.  Problem tonight?  They broke off all the branches that had flowers...nice thought, bare tree ;-)

Oh well, at least the counter looked pretty and smelled nicen for 2 days!

Oops!

CORNER + HEAD = MESS

Bled a lot.  Cried a bit.  Playing babies 5 minutes later...

Amature Photo/Video-ographer

Kaili loves it when she gets her hands on my camera.  Usually it's a lot of nothing.  The wall, a chair, a fuzzy picture of something resembling a shoe.  I usually delete them.  Today, she actually had some keepers!  It doesn't hurt that the subject is a cutie-pa-tootie!

(I've tried making these video things before but I've never been able to do it...turns out, I just need to be more patient.  ;-)

Is 4-Wheel drive really a necessity?

About a week a go, my very good friend decided to celebrate her birthday at her favorite spot!  Of course, this picture doesn't do Waipio Valley justice!

If you can make it down there...it's totally worth the 45 degree decline!
Brad was busy at work...as usual...so we decided to brave the mountain all by ourselves!  We packed up in the new (old) truck (Brad traded his 2000 Mazda truck for a '98 F250 to one of his employees who wanted better gas mileage).

Waipio was awesome.  Friends, food, fires, S'mores and a bit of rain...

Sina was so concerned about her marshmallows.  She didn't want to forget any of them!

Thank goodness for pop-up tents and car trunks!
After the sun left us in the dark, we all started heading back up the monster hill.  I was lucky enough to ask a friend to drive my truck up, cause I'm a mild wuss and he needed a ride up anyway, so why not put him in the driver seat?

With kids scrunched in the back we headed out.

Problems arose when the 4-Wheel drive decided to not work.  Hmmm, I guess the answer is YES, you do need 4-Wheel drive to visit Waipio!  Needless to say, the truck had an unexpected sleep over in Waipio, as it couldn't get a mere 100 feet up the hill.

We caught a ride home with one of our friends and had to come back the next day after church and tow the truck  home.  Good thing Brad has a plethera of trucks lying around!
