Just Another Day...

While other kids get to have the pleasure of a six hour day in the system, the cool kids are making their way to the funnest place on Earth!

(Notice Tyler's Hair!)

(Sorry Danni!  My cool kids are cooler than your cool kids....except for maybe one of your cool kids!)

Okay, maybe "the funnest place on Earth" is an overstatement...we really couldn't afford the airfare to California.   We'll have to catch Mickey Mouse some other time...

We can, however, afford the gas it takes to get to Beach 69!!  (Barely, I mean really, $5.00 per gallon is really getting up there!)

The Girls were Fishers of Men today!

Just look at their catch!  (There are two Gobies, about the size of my pinkie finger nail in there!)

Girl's Day

This seems to be Sina's new "favorite" pose.  I was doing something in the kitchen and she said, "MOM, ook (look)."  I didn't turn my head fast enough and she ran up to me and said, "MOM, come!"  So I came.  She got into her position and said, "Mom, ook!  Take a picture!"  I explained that I didn't know where my camera was, maybe it was in the car...and she would have to try this some other time.  I headed back to the kitchen.

A few minutes later, she handed me my camera and told me to take a picture, so there you have it!  Sina's picture!

In other news, we decided to have a girls party after dance today and brought the whole crew home to play!
Good thing we just bought a bunch of bathing suits from old navy!  Enough to go around!
 Play dough sculpture.  "The Brain"
 Cookie frosting time!
Time to go home.  Best part of the day?  Kaili said (of her own free will, no prodding on my part, at all!), "Thanks Mom!   This was the best day ever.  Thanks for bringing all of my friends over to play after dance!"

*Worth the mess!  ;-)

YES!!!

I think I have officially caught up in posting my pictures...from here on out, I get to try and post the pictures on the actual day I took them!  This will be a good goal, since I feel I have achieved my last goal on becoming a consistent blogger.  Now, I just need to try and be a consistent blogger who blogs in an accurate time frame!  With a new, fancy camera...someday ;-)

Just another day in Paradise...

My youngest started driving today.  I think I'm getting old!

Tyler was working on his masterpiece while I read him his favorite subject...History!

Chop it Off!

The day has come.  The time is nigh.  The hour is here.  Brad finally bribed Tyler into getting a hair cut.  (yes, the bribe was with a box of Lego's...this is a terrible habit!)
This was a dramatic hour with tears pouring out, not once, but semi-continuously. Especially during the after shower...someone was majorly attached to his hair!

A lot of hair. Tyler won't let me post a picture of the finished product...You'll have to wait until I take a picture of him doing something else!
He looks okay, but I must say, I kinda liked his long locks...  :-)

Rugby Superstar!

The day the Waimea Ruby Club got it's medals!
A very cool spot!  In Kawaihae, right on the water!  The kids explored all over ;-)

Waiting for his medal (while biting his nails, lovely)

I've officially decided I hate my little (lame) camera.  My big nice camera is broken and I have spied its new replacement!! Costco has a new Nikon that is the same size as my little (lame) camera!!  Yeah!  I'm going to get it, somehow, with some money, somewhere...I might have to get a night job to help pay for the $700 box!  ;-)

The boys also did their rendition of The Haka!  They got pretty good at it!

The Science Fair!

It's that time of year again...Science Fair Time!  And since I was put in charge of the science fair this year, yes, my kids are doing it!!!  So, Tyler picked "The Rubber Egg"  He dissolved an egg shell in vinegar (the acetic acid in vinegar dissolves the calcium carbonate of the egg's shell).
Actually, AN egg shell is an understatement.  We probably dissolved about 10 egg shells because they kept breaking.  I broke one, Sina popped one, Tyler took care of one, and we lost about 3 at the science fair ;-)  This was one stinky project!

After the shells were dissolved, he put one squishy egg in water, and one in molasses.  The water egg expanded and the molasses egg shrunk.
Then he put the molasses egg back in the water and it expanded again!  This was because of osmosis (don't even ask me about that one...I couldn't explain it hardly at all to Tyler...)  Except for the egg that ended up broken, in my friend's purse (vinegar egg all over her leather purse, in the pockets, on everything, including her iPhone!  Yikes!), Tyler's project was "Egg-celent!"
Kaili's project was on Monarch Butterflies.  The previous posts talk about our luck with the poor caterpillars!  After starting with about 15 bugs, we finally ended up with 3 butterflies!  At least we got to see a few!

It was sooo cool to see the things change!  The one on the left died but the blue-ish one was in the middle of it's change!
The butterflies were really fun to play with when they came out, and they were totally tame!  Kaili sat and did homework with one on her head for about a half hour!

Both were very cool projects, if I don't say so myself!

Easter...Again!?

And what do we all need to do at church weeks after Easter??? An Easter egg hunt, of course!

 Look at those pretty girls!
And the boys!

I must say, the girls had an easier time of this.  No one had baskets, they just grabbed the eggs and held them, but the girls had their skirts ;-)  But the boys had pockets so they held all the goodies after it was all said and done.  Tyler ended up with three protruding pockets full of treats...one for him, one for Kaili, and one for Sina!
Wasn't he nice to be the walking bag!?

A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned!

Chores equal quarters. Quarters saved equals money to spend! Somehow, the kids have saved enough money to buy things. Kaili had $10! She got a stuffed puppy dog and 2 color books! (Good buy!) Sina got a color book. And Tyler got a Ninjago lego set (yes, he's been saving for a while, but heaven knows where he got $50! He must be really good at chores, or finding money...)

Having enough to actually buy something made them really excited to save for more! Chores, here they come...this lasted for about a day. ;-)

Piano Master

Here is the master...my little prodigy! I think it's funny that every time someone comes into our house, he plays his favorite song. He doesn't mess with any of that cordial stuff either, no wasting time, no "Hello, Hi, How's it going..." He just opens the door, turns away, and starts banging out a song ;-)
  Here is the latest!

Our Waimea Day

Every Thursday for the entire school year, we have moved to Waimea for the day. We're supposed to leave at 9:15 (this time period ranges from about 9:15 to 9:45, depending on how late I am). (getting ready to go)

We start with Kaili's music lesson is from 10-11, then Tyler has piano at 12, Japanese at 2:45, and we finish off the day by heading over to the Rugby field. We don't leave Waimea until about 5:30. Needless to say, it's a busy day! We fill empty spots with Library trips (which I just dumped $50 on library fines...grrrrr...), nature park trips and the brown park.
Today the girls figured out the Fire Pole ;-)
On this day, we were lucky enough to bring some friends along ;-) The more, the merrier! They make a pretty cute clan!
Sina looks smashing in her up-do...but really it was a slicked back pony tail that got pulled out on top. She thought she was stylin'!
When we got home, Kaili helped me unpack the car. What a great helper she is!
The kids were exceptionally quick to help put "The Pile" away because we had a special something on our doorstep when we got home. The mail lady left us something! Hooray!
Good old Auntie Janae sent early birthday presents! Are we going to wait a month to open them?? No way! They tore through that box real quick!
Lipstick pen...big hit!
German traslation books...big hit (suprisingly)
Under Sea Creatures book...big hit!
Duck Quacker thing...BIG HIT!!! Just listen to this!
THANKS AUNTIE JANAE! (Thank you letter coming in the mail! ;-)
