Layers upon Layers

For Tyler's experiment, he chose to do layering...a density test:

First, he go his ingredients gathered:
Then he took equal parts of each thing.  He used honey, karo syrup, maple syrup, milk, water, dish soap, rubbing alcohol, canola oil, and tiki torch fuel (that stuff stinks!)
He slowly poured them into a tall glass, one at a time, in that order.
Because the ingredients had different densities, they didn't mix (for the most part) when poured in!
Next, he added some other objects to see where they would land (if they were less dense than the ingredient, they would not sink to the bottom)  He dropped in a screw, a die, a cherry tomato, a pony bead, a corn kernel, a bottle cap lid and a ping pong ball.

Here is the end result!  You can see the ping pong ball floated on top, the bottle cap ended up in the white section, just above the green) the tomato and corn and bead are the shadows in the greenish section (in the middle), and the die and screw sank!
This is a good one to try at home too!
